Businesses to Benefit from Waste Management Course

In today’s society, businesses up and down the country are being encouraged to be more responsible when it comes to the disposal of waste produced. At a time when we really need to be doing more to protect the environment for generations to come, any assistance with achieving set goals is likely to be well received. If you are business owner, you will therefore be pleased to know of a new initiative introduced by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) which sees a one day short course being available to all UK businesses to help manage their waste.

Working in conjunction with DEFRA (Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) as well as the Environment Agency, the Environmental Services Association and other leading bodies, the Waste Smart course is designed to help businesses cut their levels of waste, ensure they are complying with the necessary legislations and ultimately play an active role in protecting the environment we live in.

There are two levels to this one day course, foundation and advanced, to suit the requirements of particular industries. In essence, the course covers various factors including the impact the irresponsible disposal of waste has on the environment, the costs associated with doing this and the laws and legislations associated with the handling and management of such waste.

Welcomed by many within the industry and by governmental bodies, this one day course is hoped to encourage each and every business involved to take a more proactive approach to waste management and know what the consequences are, both on a legal and environmental level, if this doesn’t occur.

Here at Skip Hire UK, we are all for any initiatives and courses that can encourage individuals and businesses to be more environmentally friendly and follow similar practices in relation to waste management as we do.
