Unless agreed in advance, the hire period for all skips and containers will be no more than 10 days. Please also ensure you only load the skip / container with permitted forms of waste.

Skip Hire Waste Preparation

If you plan to place your skip on private property, make sure there is room for it and a suitable surface to place it on before finalising your order. Neither Skip Hire UK, nor our supply partners, will be liable for any damage caused to private property.

Skip Hire Permits

If you wish to place your skip on a public highway you will need a permit to do so, which is available from your local council. Should you wish, we can help you complete a permit application.

Hazardous Waste Skip Hire

Hazardous waste streams require specialist disposal. If you have hazardous materials in need of removal they cannot simply be placed in a skip with other forms of waste.

Wait and Load Skip Hire

If you are based at a location where there is no room to site or skip, or if your application for a skip permit has been rejected, our ‘wait and load’ service provides an ideal solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have years of skip hire expertise and are only too happy to share our knowledge on how to hire a skip. Below are some of the questions that we are most frequently asked.

This will depend greatly on what type of waste requires disposal and how much of it needs removing. It is important to be realistic about skip size, as it may work out cheaper to hire one larger skip, rather than two smaller ones. If you’re still unsure, please contact our helpful customer service team on 0845 373 1394.

Our prices include the hire of a skip for up to 10 days. Prices quoted also include delivery, collection and the subsequent disposal of your waste.

Skip orders processed online will typically be delivered within 48 hours. If you need it sooner, please call our customer services team on 0845 373 1394 and we will do our best to help.

We attempt to recycle as much of the waste we collect as possible. Typically, we successfully recycle at least 90% of all the waste we manage.

Skip Hire UK, together with our network of pre-approved supply partners are all approved to handle, carry and dispose of waste and comply fully with current UK waste legislation.

During the order process, we will ask you what type(s) of waste you are seeking to dispose of. This is because the disposal of some forms of waste are more expensive than others, and so will help ensure we offer you the lowest possible price. Some materials are categorised as hazardous waste and cannot be placed in any of our skips.

It is imperative that you do not fill a skip beyond the level load line, as this may render it overweight or unsafe to collect. In either case, you may then face an additional charge to remove it.
